LateBrake v0.5.83 — Rival Grip-Aware Corner Pacing¶
SOURCE-ONLY GitHub pre-release. This is NOT a playable game build. No compiled Win64 EXE, Android APK/AAB or installed game is included. GitHub-generated source archives are not installers. This snapshot has zero executable binaries and is not a licensed Unreal Engine 5.8 build.
Changes since v0.5.82¶
RIVAL GRIP — physically sampled AI corner pace¶
- The actual autonomous rival now uses its last valid race-local arcade tire grip condition, measured forward/sideways chassis velocity and real route steering demand to lower throttle or request ordinary braking before a corner. Its path remains the existing four-gate circuit route; there is no invented overtaking path or rubber-banding.
- Grip risk is qualified only from valid short physics samples, meaningful steering and measured slip/grip loss. Straight sections, low-speed launch and already-authoritative checkpoint/corner braking retain existing priority and can still progress.
- A strictly bounded 0.12-second AI corner brake hold helps avoid oscillation at the speed threshold. Race reset, interrupted or unready physics, route completion, checkpoint recovery and malformed telemetry clear transient state instead of permitting stale motor acceleration.
- The new policy cannot add motor force, change steering, rewrite opponent progress, modify credits, records or saves, or bypass the previously qualified player-aware rival following policy.
- This is an arcade source model, not a validated suspension/tire solver, real-world braking predictor or confirmed physical Chaos driving result. See Rival grip pacing QA.
Existing source mechanics preserved¶
- ARCADE TIRE run-local heat/wear policy remains shared by both chassis, with a bounded grip reduction and uninterrupted competition.
- NITRO BOOST is still a human-only, finite-energy held speed advantage and never becomes an autonomous rival ability.
- SLIPSTREAM still requires genuine geometry behind the actual moving rival; its combined force with human nitro stays capped at 40%.
- Checkpoint timing, career progression, local player authority, source package provenance and release-asset policy are unchanged.
Source qualification before publication¶
The exact release commit must pass a fresh portable C++20 build and
CTest on Windows, Ubuntu and macOS, including the complete standalone
test suite. Independent selected target runs with --no-tests=error
must prove that RivalGripPace, ArcadeTireCondition, ArcadeNitroBoost,
SlipstreamDraftBoost and ArcadeBoostArbitration really exist and execute.
Python source-only Unreal integration checks verify measured-tire readiness, real lateral chassis velocity and strict AI route/traffic control ordering. PowerShell negative-provenance fixture tests and the MkDocs documentation site are independently qualified at that same commit.
This publisher must refuse a moved main branch, wrong v0.5.82 predecessor pre-release, altered source tag, changes to existing release contents or any executable release attachment. No Unreal Editor, UHT, UAT, genuine asset cook, Win64 EXE or Android package is produced.
Remaining real gameplay and package gates¶
- Compile the Game and Editor targets with an authorized Unreal Engine 5.8 installation and inspect UHT/compiler results.
- Cook an actual project-owned racing circuit map; test the physical rival at straight entry, worn-tire corners, off-track recovery, pause, restart and collision with the player at several hardware frame rates.
- Verify full lap completion without stuck corner braking, false checkpoint awards or invalid arcade assistance.
- Produce genuine installed Win64 and Android candidate packages, record actual SHA256 files and real player-observed test evidence.
- Keep playable qualification #148 and Android hardware qualification #13 open until those physical tests pass.
