LateBrake v0.5.73 — Arcade Drift Combo Meter

SOURCE-ONLY GitHub pre-release. This is NOT a playable game build. No compiled Win64 EXE, Android APK/AAB or installed working game is provided. GitHub source archives are not installers. This release contains zero executable binaries; Unreal Engine 5.8, an original cooked map, true packages and hardware playtests remain unverified.

New source work beyond v0.5.72

Engine-independent arcade drift combos

  • A bounded, in-memory DriftComboMeter consumes the same actual sampled speed and sideways chassis motion as the driving telemetry, after real player drive readiness, physics and finite-velocity checks.
  • It requires continuous qualifying virtual lateral motion before any score activates; accepts only brief nonqualifying interruptions, rejects nonfinite, unrealistically large or hitch-duration frames, and clamps points and sample time to finite limits.
  • World pause, app focus loss, physics invalidity, recoveries and race finish suspend and bank one combo without double counting. Genuine race restart resets the entire meter and old session score.
  • A spacious live racing HUD shows provisional combo time and points. The existing paged finished Results menu reports total arcade points, combo count, best combo and qualified slip sample seconds only for valid recordable finishes.
  • UI explicitly labels the detail ARCADE DRIFT SCORE (NO CREDITS). Points cannot change career, race clock, vehicle handling, saved best times, credits, records, rewards, purchases or leaderboard. It is a virtual game style feature, not real-world driving guidance.

Independent source qualification

This asset-free pre-release can only publish from the same main SHA that independently passes complete strict C++20 suites (including DriftComboMeter, DrivingSessionStats and race results) on Windows, Ubuntu and macOS; all Unreal source-binding Python checks; PowerShell synthetic package/provenance rejection; rendered GitHub Pages docs. The publisher refuses to overwrite tags, blocks a moved main HEAD, requires independently tagged previous v0.5.72 with no executable assets, and ensures release notes retain mandatory source-only warnings.

Engine and hardware gates STILL OPEN

Before claiming a playable LateBrake game, licensed UE 5.8 Editor/UHT and game builds, a cookable author-owned .umap, physics, real Win64 EXE and Android APK/AAB and installed gameplay/drift/render verification with logs/screenshots/device identifiers are mandatory. See Drift combo QA and engine/package acceptance #148.

This is SOURCE-ONLY, NOT a playable game build, contains zero executable binaries, and its source archives are not installers. Original LateBrake source is BSD-3-Clause; Unreal Engine remains subject to Epic's separate license.
