LateBrake v0.5.30 — Source Stability Preview¶
SOURCE-ONLY GitHub pre-release — NOT a playable game build. No compiled Win64 EXE, Android APK/AAB, or installed playable game is included. GitHub-generated source code ZIP/tar.gz archives are not installers.
Source changes since v0.5.22¶
This source snapshot captures 8 additional unpublished development milestones, v0.5.23–v0.5.30, on the verified main source history:
- Protected packaging provenance: Reject dirty/untracked source before Editor and UAT stages; pin the source commit across long builds; snapshot project-owned circuit map SHA-256 before/after cooking; reject mismatching Windows/Android candidate identities. These are build-policy rules, not evidence of an actual cooked package.
- Racing session integrity: Deny player recovery while the circuit is incomplete, menu/world is paused, player physics is unusable, or race is finished; preserve the full five-second penalty for an authorized recovery.
- Physical vehicle readiness: Ensure the pawn has a finite, simulated, collision-bearing chassis before counting race time or scoring checkpoint gates; reset traces across broken physics intervals.
- Mobile input safety: Accept finger release events while paused, maintain independent held-finger ownership, and neutralize filtered throttle/steering after invalid coordinates, physical lift or movement off control pads.
- Checkpoint continuity: A sample with NaN or infinite velocity now invalidates the movement baseline. It cannot create a phantom forward crossing on the next frame; a fresh valid baseline and subsequent genuine crossing are required.
- GitHub Pages website: Public project documentation, feature explanations, build guide, source-only status, roadmap, and dedicated qualification instructions now publish at https://sanskarin.github.io/latebrake/.
Automated checks for this exact source snapshot¶
GitHub Actions compiles and runs portable C++20/CTest on Windows, Ubuntu, and macOS, executes script syntax and synthetic packaging-policy tests, and runs Unreal Editor Python stub/source tests. Source CI and a successful documentation deployment do not compile Unreal Engine 5.8.
The immutable v0.5.30 tag is intended to point to the already merged and tested f15afa4e8d1347edec1f9f19649412eb002c82c4 source revision from PR #79, not a future moving branch head.
Not yet available¶
- No genuine UE 5.8 Editor/UHT or game compilation is verified.
- No original circuit
.umapcooked in an authorized Unreal environment is verified. - No Windows executable, Android APK/AAB or Linux game package exists as a verified release artifact.
- No installed Windows or physical Android driving, collision, pause, touch or recovery QA has been completed.
Do not download the GitHub source archives expecting a playable game. The release only preserves source for developers.
Release-blocking qualification issues: #31 checkpoint/physics and #13 Android hardware. Authored project source is BSD-3-Clause; Unreal Engine and built-in Epic assets have separate licenses.
This is a source-only pre-release with zero executable attachments.
