LateBrake v0.5.22 — Malformed Touch Press Cancellation¶
SOURCE-ONLY GitHub pre-release. This is NOT a playable game build. No compiled Win64 EXE, Android APK/AAB, or installed game is included. GitHub-generated ZIP/tar.gz source archives are not installers.
New source work since v0.5.21¶
- Cancel a malformed held finger: If a finger already owns throttle, brake or steering, a duplicate press with NaN or infinite coordinates now neutralizes that finger's control instead of leaving the last held driving value latched.
- Preserve other controls: A different valid held finger is not interrupted by the malformed event. A malformed unowned finger cannot steal or clear unrelated controls, and a valid duplicate press leaves its held input unchanged.
- Regression coverage: Expanded engine-independent
TouchDriveStateTests.cppandTouchFingerRangeTests.cppexercise malformed held gas and steering input, the maximum representable finger index, independent controls, and late movement after owner cancellation. - Existing racing checkpoints, touch viewport fail-safe, measured lap forecast, AI safety, recovery counters and validated lap history remain in the project source.
Source-only validation¶
A dedicated main-branch-only release workflow checks the existing published, non-draft, asset-free v0.5.21 pre-release, compiles and runs the full C++20 portable test suite on Ubuntu, Windows and macOS, explicitly requires latebrake_TouchDriveState_tests, latebrake_TouchFingerRange_tests, and the earlier latebrake_recent_timed_laps_tests, plus PowerShell packaging-policy negatives and Python editor stubs. The workflow creates an immutable tag only for the exact source revision that passed every gate, and attaches no executable assets.
This is NOT a playable game build. Licensed Unreal Engine 5.8 Editor/UHT and true game compilation, a cooked binary circuit map, genuine Windows/Android installable game packages, Android OS focus/lifecycle input testing and installed driving/collision QA remain UNVERIFIED. Passing portable source CI is not proof of a playable game.
Requirements for a playable release¶
- Compile a genuine Unreal 5.8 game and editor project and cook its real circuit map.
- Create signed/verified real Win64 and Android packages on authorized build machines with exact package manifest hashes.
- Install and test throttle/steering during focus loss, orientation changes and invalid input callbacks, as well as race checkpoints, lap clock, rival recovery and save records.
- Log real evidence in checkpoint QA #31 and Android QA #13.
