LateBrake v0.5.21 — Touch Viewport Interruption Safety¶
SOURCE-ONLY GitHub pre-release. This is NOT a playable game build. No compiled Win64 EXE, Android APK/AAB, or installed game is included. GitHub-generated source ZIP/tar.gz archives contain project source, not installers.
Source improvements since v0.5.20¶
- Global invalid-viewport fail-safe: Portable
TouchDriveStatenow clears the previous throttle, brake and steering owners if an input press arrives while the viewport geometry is invalid, e.g. during a screen orientation/size change. - All move finger IDs: An invalid layout also clears held controls when the move event's finger ID is negative. The incoming touch cannot claim controls, and late move events cannot reacquire canceled steering or throttle.
- Regression tests:
TouchDriveStateTests.cppandTouchFingerRangeTests.cppcover existing held gas+steering, invalid press and move events, negative and untrackable finger IDs, and stale move rejection after cancellation. - Existing features retained: The v0.5.15 checkpoint session fixes, v0.5.16 shared 16-finger bounds, v0.5.17 lap-pace HUD forecast, v0.5.18 rival readiness, v0.5.19 finite rival recovery budget and v0.5.20 monotonic lap history remain in source.
Release verification¶
The main-only release workflow requires an already published, non-draft, asset-free v0.5.20 source pre-release. It builds the entire engine-independent C++20 portable suite on Ubuntu, Windows and macOS, explicitly including latebrake_TouchDriveState_tests, latebrake_TouchFingerRange_tests, and latebrake_recent_timed_laps_tests. Windows PowerShell package-negative/syntax policy and Python Unreal Editor script stubs must also pass. The workflow refuses to tag an untested main commit, to move existing tags, or to attach executable files.
This is NOT a playable game build. Genuine Unreal Engine 5.8 Editor/UHT/game compilation, a binary authored/cooked circuit map, real Win64/Android Cook/BuildCookRun, installed Android orientation and multitouch tests, and physical controller/gameplay QA remain UNVERIFIED. The source ZIP/tar.gz files are not playable packages, and hosted C++ CI does not prove rendered driving works.
Playable-release qualification still needed¶
- Compile authorized Unreal Engine 5.8 game/editor targets, save and cook the genuine track map.
- Package real Win64 and Android candidates and record the exact package-manifest SHA256.
- Install and test steering, held gas through orientation changes, focus/resume, menus, checkpoints, AI collisions, recovery and lap timing.
- Record real evidence against checkpoint QA issue #31 and Android QA issue #13.
