LateBrake v0.5.19 — Accounted Rival Recovery Budget¶
SOURCE-ONLY GitHub pre-release. This is NOT a playable game build. No compiled Win64 EXE, Android APK/AAB, or installed game is included. GitHub-generated source ZIP/tar.gz archives contain project source, not installers.
Changes following the source-only v0.5.18 preview¶
- Finite autonomous recovery budget:
RivalRouteProgressnow refuses requests for additional AI teleports after its finite session recovery allowance is exhausted, instead of silently continuing to request teleports that would never be represented in the counter. - Counted recovery invariant: Every accepted autonomous recovery request corresponds to an increment of the recorded recovery count. A completed or reset event cannot import stale counts from an earlier attempt.
- Boundary stress regression: Original
RivalRouteTests.cppexhausts the entire recovery budget, verifies that the next teleport is refused, tests the denial after movement, and ensures a new race attempt has a fresh budget. - Separate player timing: These route-recovery counts do not constitute competitive lap results, standings or a verified AI race finish.
Source release validation¶
The dedicated v0.5.19 workflow will run strict C++20 portable tests on Ubuntu, Windows and macOS including latebrake_route_tests, as well as a previously shipped rival-driving readiness test. Windows PowerShell syntax/package-policy negatives and Python editor-only tests run independently. The publication stage requires an already published, non-draft, asset-free v0.5.18 source-only pre-release, refuses mismatched existing tags, and tags only the exact tested main commit. No playable binaries will be attached.
This is NOT a playable game build. Actual Unreal Engine 5.8 Editor/UHT/game compilation, genuinely authored and cooked map content, real Win64/Android installation packages, physical autonomous car recovery and driving tests, and frame-rate/vehicle-collision qualification remain UNVERIFIED. Tests operating on independent C++ route state cannot establish a working Unreal game.
Required before claiming playability¶
- Compile the authorized Unreal Engine 5.8 targets and save/cook genuine track content.
- Produce real Win64 and Android candidates with hashes and build provenance, install and drive them.
- Verify rival collision recovery, pause handling, lap/timing integrity and mobile controller behavior in actual builds.
- Record results and exact candidate identity in checkpoint issue #31 and Android issue #13.
