LangSteps v1.0.0 Is Here

Every Language. Every Level. One Step at a Time.

I'm excited to announce the first stable release of LangSteps, a programming-learning platform built around a simple idea: make it easier to explore programming concepts, practice what you learn, and progress across multiple technologies in one place.

The v1.0.0 release marks an important milestone in the project's development. It brings together seven current learning tracks, interactive learning features, and a growing collection of programming reference resources.

A place to explore programming

Programming has many paths. Some developers begin with HTML and CSS, others start with Python, while others want to understand systems concepts through Rust.

LangSteps is intended to provide an organized entry point into these different areas.

The current release includes learning tracks for:

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python, TypeScript, and Rust.

Each technology has its own learning area, bringing relevant concepts and learning resources into a common experience.

Learning, practice, and progress

Learning is more effective when it includes more than reading. That's why LangSteps combines educational content with tools to help learners revisit and reinforce what they encounter.

The available experience includes:

Structured programming concepts and code examples

Quizzes for checking understanding

Interactive practice features where provided

Browser-based progress tracking

Customizable interface themes

Import and export options for supported learning progress data

Reference tools for concepts, snippets, interview preparation, flashcards, and coding challenges

The platform is designed to be accessible through a web browser, so learners can start exploring without setting up a complete development environment first.

A roadmap for more languages

Version 1.0.0 establishes the initial catalogue. The next planned milestone, v1.1.0, is expected to expand it with:

Go, SQL, and C# & .NET 9.

These additions will broaden the platform's coverage of backend development, databases, and the .NET ecosystem.

As development continues, the goal is to keep improving the existing learning material while expanding the number of technologies available.

Help shape the next release

LangSteps is an evolving project, and feedback from people who use it is valuable.

I'm interested in hearing which learning tracks are most useful, which concepts need clearer explanations, and what improvements would make the platform more accessible and effective.

Suggestions, issue reports, and constructive feedback can all help inform future development.

Thank you to everyone who explores the project and shares ideas.
